About the artist:
Subsequent to courses in Studio Art at Arizona State University, Wendy underwent a 5-year apprenticeship with her father Lance, a well-known east coast bird carver.  After 12 years concentrating on bird carving, Wendy began working with Wick Ahrens, a nationally known whale carver.  Following Wick's passing, she has continued  creating her bird carvings as well as whale wall sculptures in Wick's unique style. Wendy's woodshop is located in the wooded mountains of Vermont.
