About the artist
When Brad Smith is asked about his furniture styling,
his tongue-in-cheek response is “rusticated, post-agricultural,
contemporary country.” We prefer to call it Farm Fresh Furniture!
Brad was born and raised on a working farm, and he returned there to establish
his workshop in 1980, after graduating from the Rochester Institute of
Technology’s School of American Craftsmen with a BFA in woodworking
and furniture design. Beginning with a line of uniquely designed kitchen
accessories, Brad has slowly expanded his offerings in furniture. His
signature “ax handle stools” grace many contemporary homes
throughout the country. When Creations opened for business in 1992, Brad
was one of the original six artisans we featured in the gallery. We carry
his complete Bradford Woodworking portfolio and often have his very special
one-of-a-kind pieces available for purchase.
